Boys talked about St. Tropez when I was in school because in Ireland no woman sunbathed topless on a beach. Or anywhere else. This piece is a homage to those simpler days when thoughts of a woman lying on a beach with no top-on mattered.
I felt this art needed some green in it so I put this girl on some grass rather than on the beach. I wanted to include as many ‘flowing lines’ as possible as I felt it complemented the ‘flowing lines’ of the female form.
It prints very well and is a guaranteed to get people talking. Just tell them it is a woman lying on some grass in St. Tropez as imagined in the subconscious mind of a schoolboy in Ireland.
