When I was young my mother used to bake cakes that had layers of wonderful colours in them. I don’t know how she used to do it but there was always a number of different browns creams and other colours in any one cake. I am not sure that I remember any of my mum’s baking with purple in it but the idea for this art came from her cakes and I then added the colours that I wanted in ‘my’ cake.
I love the colours in this piece and it looks great when hanging particularly on either a white or light blue wall.
