I don’t really do dark paintings, my art is about colour blending in abstract form but a dear friend asked me to do a painting for her requesting something ‘a bit darker’ than my usual work. There was no way I was going to do a dark painting so I though about the idea of a dark piece with lots of colours trying to ‘push through’ from behind the darkness.
The painting did turn out well (she was delighted) but I wanted the colours to be more vibrant and stronger and this is where the digital work came into this piece of art. I am much happier with it now that I have ‘boosted’ the strong colours and a lot of people agree with me as this is one of my most popular pieces of art. My sister in particular ‘loves it’.
